With week one already under their belt, the football team has set the tone for an exciting 2025 season under the leadership of new head coach Luke Scifres. “Our team is blessed with nine outstanding seniors,” Coach Scifres shared. “Five were selected by their teammates as captains—Henry Schafer, Noah Sebree, Blake Boston, Caleb Jankowski, and Caleb Faris. Along with fellow seniors Tyson Hall, Jackson Rohrs, Titus LaMonte, and Rhys Dias, this group has provided tremendous leadership and helped create a positive, enthusiastic team chemistry.” Last week, the Warriors celebrated Senior Night, honoring their senior players along with four-year managers Glory and Yara Sief. While the team came up just short of a comeback, they delivered plenty of exciting moments, scoring 34 points against Park Tudor and outscoring the Panthers 21–13 in the second half. With a strong senior class and a promising group of underclassmen, the Warriors look to keep building a balanced offense that can move the ball effectively on the ground and through the air, while consistently putting points on the board. On defense, the focus remains on discipline, flying to the football, and creating stops and turnovers. “Our coaches are thrilled with the attitude and effort this group is bringing,” said Coach Scifres. “We believe our players will compete hard and give their best each Friday night. Most importantly, we want to help them grow into the young men God created them to be and support them on their journey to Heaven. If we accomplish that, we will have had a truly successful season.” The team travels to Shortridge High School (0-1) this evening and will head to Indian Creek (1-0) next Friday.
