The Covenant Christian Warriors girls volleyball program looks to build on last year’s success and make another deep run in the IHSAA Class 2A state tournament. The 2024 season highlighted the team’s resilience through a tough schedule and a new coaching staff, resulting in a sectional title. A hard-fought 3-1 win against Cardinal Ritter in the opening round—despite losing their starting setter—showed their toughness before securing the program's 5th sectional title with sweeps over Park Tudor and University. Their tournament run ended in a narrow 2-3 loss to Scecina in the regional final. Key performers included Kenzie Mann, ranked among the top 50 in Class 2A offensively, and Kadison Oppy, who led the team in assists and aces. The Warriors will compete against both public and private schools throughout central Indiana, facing traditional powers like Bishop Chatard as well as up-and-coming programs, experience that will sharpen them for postseason play. The 2025 roster features returning senior leaders Kenzie Mann and Kadison Oppy, along with seniors Raven Russell and Anna Fowler, who are poised for breakout seasons. Sophomore stand-out Anna Cope (libero) provides defensive stability and leadership, while varsity-newcomers Emma Crane, Katie Schwein, and Chloe Bell are expected to contribute right away. Looking ahead, the Warriors volleyball program continues to build on its foundation of competitive excellence and Christian character. "This team represents the best of what Christian school athletics can offer in terms of competition, character, and community," said Head Coach Mick Oppy. "We're building something special here that goes beyond wins and losses – we're developing young women who will carry these values with them long after they leave our program." The Warriors open their regular season tonight at Brebeuf Jesuit, with their home opener set for tomorrow (Wednesday) against University.
