It came a day later than originally scheduled, but the Covenant girls tennis team was able to secure its sixth consecutive sectional championship dating back to the spring of 2018 (the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Rain on Wednesday bumped the tournament schedule back by one day, but the change did not deter the Warriors, who took down Speedway (4-1), Tri-West (5-0), and Ben Davis (5-0). The win against Ben Davis marked head coach Sean Bird's 200th win overall as a boys and girls coach. The Warriors advance to face the North Central Panthers, the host of IHSAA Regional #7, at 4:30 p.m. today (May 21).
