The National Christian School Athletic Association is a non-profit Christian organization committed to impacting communities for Christ through the medium of athletics. They have member schools from all over the country who are focused on doing the same. CCHS has been a member of the NCSAA since 2004, and throughout the years, many Warrior athletes have been recognized for their achievements by the association. NCSAA recently released lists of fall sport athletes named to the All-American and Super-Regional Teams. Five Covenant students were named to the these lists! Co-MVPs of the boys soccer team, Mason Smith and Josh Byrd, were both named to the Northeast Super-Regional team, and Smith made 2nd team All-American. Smith compiled 17 goals and 13 assists, Byrd 10 goals and 8 assists while leading their team to another sectional championship. Smith was also part of the All-City Tourney team and Circle City All-Conference team. Byrd was All-District Second team, All-City, and Academic All-State as well! The Warrior football team had three members selected to the Northeast Super-Regional team: sophomore QB Connor Cruz, senior WR Landen Ross, and freshman LB Bryce Eagen. Cruz was 167/298 passing (56%) for 2631 yds with 33 passing TDs and 5 rushing TDs. In his first year as a starter, Connor set school records for most passing yards in a game (348), most passing yards in a season, most passing attempts in a season, tied the record for most passing TDs in a game (6) and earned the 3rd highest QB rating in a game in school history (157.8). Ross adds the NCSAA honor to his growing list of accolades that include All-City and All-State. He was also a WR for the Region 7 All-Star team, and was the team's Offensive Player of the Year. He hauled in 59 catches for 861 yds and 11 TDs in just 10 games. He set school records for most catches in a game (10) and most receptions in a season (59) in addition to tying the record for most TDs in a game (3). Freshman LB Bryce Eagen recorded 64 total tackles (32 solo tackles), 12 TFL, 7 sacks, and ranked 8th in total tackles amongst Indiana freshman across all classes. He was 1st in sacks amongst Indiana freshman and 26th in sacks amongst freshmen across all states. We look forward to seeing the impact Bryce will have over the course of the next three seasons! Senior volleyball player and Marion University commit Evie Dart was also selected for the NCSAA Northeast Super-Regional team. During the 2023-24 season, Dart was also named to the City Alliance All-Tournament team, MCCGSA All-City team, Circle City All-Conference team, and was selected to participate in the IHSVCA Indiana All-Star game. Evie also became Covenant's career blocking record holder in her senior season. Congratulations to these athletes for all of their accomplishments this past fall!
