Covenant Christian High School

The Athletic Department is very excited to announce Eric Linton as the next Head Softball Coach for Covenant Christian High School. With more than 20 years of coaching experience and 19 seasons as a head softball coach, Coach Linton has dedicated his career to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Throughout his coaching journey, Coach Linton has worked with more than 500 athletes across youth, travel, junior varsity, and varsity softball programs, emphasizing skill development, competitive excellence, character growth, and team culture. Most recently, Coach Linton served as the Varsity Head Softball Coach at Cardinal Ritter High School from 2022–2025, where he directed all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game management, and program administration. During his tenure, the program improved from a 2–21 record in 2023 to an 11–15 record and a Sectional Runner-Up finish in 2025. In addition to his high school coaching experience, Coach Linton owned and operated Fastpitch Plus, an indoor softball training facility that provided lessons, clinics, camps, and player development opportunities for athletes of all ages. This experience further strengthened his expertise in instruction, leadership, organizational management, and long-term athlete development. Here is what Coach Linton has to say: "I am thrilled and honored to step into the role of head softball coach at Covenant Christian. Having the opportunity to coach the game I love while centering our program around Jesus is a dream come true. I am so grateful to God for this opportunity and can't wait to build a culture focused on faith, player development, and competition."
