For the first time in program history, the boys volleyball team secured its first sectional title. In just its second year as an official IHSAA sport, the Warriors earned several statement wins, knocking off some of the biggest schools in the state. With no class system currently in place for boys volleyball, the accomplishment is especially significant for a small 2A school. The team put together an impressive regular season, finishing as City Alliance runners-up and Indiana Crossroads Conference champions. The Warriors posted an overall regular sason record of 20-3 and capped the regular season by winning the ICC Invitational, defeating every opponent in straight sets. They carried that momentum into sectional play, opening the tournament with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Center Grove. The match served as a rematch of last year’s sectional championship, which the Warriors lost in straight, tightly contested sets. Overcoming that hurdle proved to be a major step forward and helped propel the team deeper into the tournament. The Warriors then defeated Brownsburg and Avon in straight sets on Saturday to secure the sectional championship. The team now turns its attention to regional play on Saturday, where it will face Shortridge (20-8) at noon. On the other side of the bracket, North Central (19-7) will take on Cathedral (19-12) for a chance to advance to the regional championship later that evening. The Warriors previously fell to Cathedral in the City Championship (0-3), but the team enters the weekend mentally locked in and ready to compete for a spot in next Saturday’s State Finals. It has been a record-setting season for the Warriors in only their second year as an IHSAA program. Last season, the team finished 23-6 overall, but both the team and individual performances have reached new heights in 2026 despite positional changes caused by injuries. Defensively, the Warriors made a major leap at the net, recording 194 total blocks — more than double the 91 posted in 2025. Senior Braylen Baldwin leads the team with 57 blocks. Junior Caden Frothingham has anchored the defense with a team-best 250 digs this season, with the team tallying 940 digs overall. Offensively, the Warriors have set single-season program records across nearly every major category, including 840 kills, and 768 assists. Senior Micah Manning leads the team in assists (556) and aces (34), while senior Isaac Crane leads the team with 313 kills. Saturday’s regional matches will be played at Center Grove High School. The Warriors will play 12pm with the championship starting at 6pm. Tickets cost $10.00 per person (Grade K+) with cash at the gate or digital redemption. • Semi-final matches (12pm): https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=188960 • Championship match (6pm): https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=188961
