The IHSAA Boys Swimming Sectional Prelims begin Thursday, February 19. Like the girls team, the boys have shown steady improvement throughout the regular season. Sophomore Danny Minaya is entered in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. He opened the season with a 30.26 in the 50 Free and has since lowered that time to 29.20. His biggest drop has come in the 100 Free, where he has improved from 1:17.46 to 1:10.91 heading into Thursday’s meet. Freshman Koen Hill has also demonstrated consistent progress this season. He will compete in the 100 Free, where he most recently posted a 1:04.85 after opening the year at 1:07.00. He will also swim the 100 Breaststroke, trimming nearly three seconds off his initial time and entering Sectional with a 1:20.71. Individuals who advance will compete on Saturday, February 21.
