The girls basketball City Tournament is underway, with the Warriors (9-9) opening play with a 54–7 victory over George Washington last evening. Covenant Christian enters the next round on a three-game winning streak, fueled by momentum from a strong conference campaign that included a 3–1 record in Indiana Crossroads Conference play. The Warriors have relied on a balanced lineup throughout the season, with multiple players contributing on both ends of the floor. Sophomore guard Abbey Jankowski leads the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game, while senior forward Emi Flatt adds 8.8 points per contest and provides steady rebounding and interior presence. Junior guard Emma Crane has been a key playmaker, averaging 6.2 assists per game while also leading the team defensively with 3.4 steals per game. Freshman Isla Haffner has emerged as an additional scoring threat, giving the Warriors valuable depth heading into tournament play. With a blend of experience, youth, and defensive intensity, Covenant Christian looks to carry its momentum into the City Tournament and beyond. The Warriors travel to Bishop Chatard (9-9) tonight to face the Trojans in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
