The Covenant Athletic Department held their annual Sportsmanship Award Banquet on Thursday night. This unique event is a catered dinner that each of the 18 programs at CCHS invite an opposing player that has demonstrated good sportsmanship and character this year or over the course of their career while competing in their respective sport. Senior Abby Highsmith attended the Tamika Catchings “Catch the Stars” Scholar Athlete Dinner on Friday, May 17. Highsmith received a $20,000 scholarship from the Ciara Arts and Science Foundation. The registration for all of Covenant’s 2019 Summer Camps is now open. CCHS offers summer camps for Athletics as well as Fine Arts. The 2108 Covenant Fall Sports season has officially been concluded, but the memories of this season will last for a long time. CCHS saw it’s athletic teams compete in the Circle City Conference for the first time, the Boys Soccer team advance to the Class 1A State Final again in 2018, as well as winning
The Girls Volleyball team wrapped up their season a couple of weeks ago in the first round of sectional play, but several members of the squad are receiving postseason honors. Freshman Cadee Notter was selected to the All-City Team by the City Alliance coaches in conjunction with the Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports (MCCGSA).
The Girls JV and Varsity Volleyball teams (#6 seeds) went to Heritage Christian last night in the second round of the City Tournament, but both teams came away with losses, which eliminates the Lady Warriors from the Tournament. JV lost their match in two sets. The varsity dropped their match 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-19). #3
The Girls Volleyball team (9-18), the #6 seed, defeated #11 seed Arsenal Tech HS 3-0 in the first round of the City Volleyball Tournament last night. CCHS jumped out to early leads in all three sets, winning 25-10, 25-9, 25-8. The Junior Varsity also defeated ATHS in two sets to advance. Both Lady Warriors teams
The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) released the draw for the 47th Annual Girls Volleyball State Tournament Sunday night via a pairings show broadcast on the IHSAA Champions Network. The State Tournament will kick off with the sectional round during the week of October 8-13, with regionals on October 20, semi-state on October 27,
