City Alliance Releases Brackets for City Soccer Tournaments

The City Alliance has released the draws for this year’s City Soccer Tournaments following yesterday’s monthly City Alliance Athletic Director’s Meeting.  The City Soccer Tournaments will be played on September 26-30 this year.  The draw seeds the top four teams in both the boys and girls tournaments, with the remaining teams slotted in the bracket

The Girls Golf team competed in the Circle City Conference Championship on Friday afternoon at Smock Golf Course.  The Covenant shot a 465, good for sixth place. The Covenant Football team (2-0) rolled into week two against Rushville Consolidated HS on Friday, coming off a week one blowout of Jennings County HS.  The game against Rushville stayed close through the first quarter, but a huge, 41-point second quarter led the Warriors to a 68-6 victory over the Lions. The Boys Tennis team (4-2) won their second straight match on Wednesday night, dispatching Cardinal Ritter HS, 4-1.  Senior Joseph Bird took the Warriors lone loss, falling to CRHS Senior Mark Baker, 3-6, 2-6.  With the victory, Baker notched his 50th career win for the Raiders. The Boys Tennis team moved to 3-2 on the young season, sweeping the Sparkplugs of Speedway HS 5-0 on Tuesday night.
