Coach Amanda Brown is entering her third season as Head Coach of the Lady Warrior basketball program. She joined the Covenant Christian family after 10 years of previous high school coaching experience and has been instrumental in the development of youth basketball programs as well. Brown led CCHS to a sectional title in her two seasons in 2018 and 2019, the seventh and eighth sectional titles in program history.
Coach Brown played for Kentucky Wesleyan College (2005-2006 season) in Owensboro, KY before transferring to Indiana University-Bloomington where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics Education (2009). Amanda coached at Bloomington HS North (Freshman Coach) and Eastern Greene HS (Varsity Assistant) white attending IU. Upon graduation, Coach Brown spent a five year tenure at Gibson Southern High School. There she acted as the varsity assistant and freshman head coach while obtaining her Masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of Southern Indiana (2014). Most recently she led the Avon JV Lady Orioles to a record of 30-14 in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 season, which included a 267 Classic and Brown County Holiday Tournament Championship.
Amanda is also an active member of Traders Point Christian Church where she leads a women’s group and serves in various other ministries. Coach Brown is excited to continue her teaching career at Covenant Christian High School, and is looking forward to leading Lady Warrior’s basketball program.
Cody Owen — JV/Assistant Coach
Amanda is a 2009 graduate of Covenant Christian. She was active in volleyball, basketball and track and field for four years. She was a member of NHS and Student Council. Amanda was a member of the first and second sectional championship girls basketball teams in the school’s history.
Coach Owen is a graduate of Franklin College (2013), where she played basketball for 3 years and competed in track and field. During basketball, she was a part of two conference championship teams which advanced in the NCAA Tournament.
Amanda is currently working on a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as working for an adoption agency on the south side of Indianapolis.
