The Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Jeff Hastings has been hired as the next Covenant Cross Country Head Coach.  Tyler Wildman, who had been the CCHS XC Coach since the Fall of 2014, stepped down from his Cross Country position earlier this year.  Wildman will continue at Covenant as an English teacher and the Head Track & Field Coach.

Hastings has been a part of the CCHS coaching staff for both Cross Country and and Track & Field for the last three years.  Jeff attended Hardin Northern HS in northwest Ohio, where he was a multi-sport letter winner in varsity cross country, basketball and track.  He was a multi-event County and Conference champion and record holder in cross country and track, and competed at the state level in both sports, culminating in All-State recognition as a senior in cross country.  Hastings then attended Bowling Green State University where he competed as a middle and long distance runner for four years in varsity Track and Cross Country.  He made the All-MAC Indoor Team in the 5000 meters as a sophomore,  and was a consistent top 5 runner in cross country as a junior and senior.

Prior to joining the Covenant team, he coached track and cross country at both the middle school and high school level for four years, as well as youth soccer and basketball for five years.  Jeff lives in Carmel with Kim, his wife of 27 years, and their three children, Ashlyn, Luke and Maclain (all CCHS Class of 2019).
Hastings’ coaching staff will include the return of Jeff Reichanadter.  Reichanadter, and associate pastor of youth at Common Ground Church Midtown, was a volunteer assistant under Wildman during the 2019 season.
