The Covenant Swim season came to a close on Saturday afternoon, with another solid outing.  The Warriors finished in 11th Place as a team, finishing with 62 points.  2020 IHSAA Sectional #13 Final Scores.

The finals started off with the CCHS 200 Medley Relay team dropping over two seconds off of their time from the prelims, good enough to finish in 11th place for the event.  The Medley Relay team was made up of Senior Dawson Fink, Sophomore Brenner Lampton, and Freshmen Isaac Masquelier and Levi Tranbarger.

Fink then swam his way to a second place finish in the 50 Freestyle, swimming it in :21.76, :.32 faster than he swam in the prelims on Thursday, which had re-set his own program record for the event.  While it was a great time, Fink missed the state cut time (:21.27) for an automatic berth to this week’s state finals.  He also had an outside shot at a wildcard berth to get into the top 32 times in the 50, but missed the 32nd spot by a mere :.25.  Fink also swam in the 100 Freestyle, coming in as the second seed, but faded in the last 25 yards, finishing in fifth place with a time of :49.29, :.62 off his pace from the prelims.  Lampton also competed in the 50 Free, knocking off :.11 seconds off of his PR to earn a point for the Warriors.

The team closed out their day and their season with the 200 Freestyle Relay, winning the consolation heat.  The team dropped 1.86 seconds from Thursday’s prelims, down to 1:45.0.
