The Boys Basketball team (5-3, 1-1) rode a big first quarter to a 77-56 win over Scecina Memorial HS on Saturday night. The Warriors came out with one of their best quarters of the season, outscoring the Crusaders 35-15 in the first quarter. After the strong start, CCHS struggled to throw the ball in the ocean, let alone the basket, as they scored just eight points in the second quarter. Covenant was able to maintain their lead in the second half.
Senior Noah Hedrick had a game-high 26 points to go along with 4 rebounds, an assist, and 2 steals to help lead the offensive charge. Senior Ethan Maudlin and Junior Trey Flatt both chipped in 11 points as well. Sophomore Brock Buckley added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.
The Warriors are back at home on Tuesday night, as they host Bishop Chatard HS in a Circle City Conference matchup at 6:00/7:30 pm.
