Tuesday night’s game was a bit of a microcosm of the young season for the Girls Basketball team (3-3, 0-1), as they search for consistency.  CCHS jumped out to a solid lead in the first half, but struggled throughout the second half, en route to a 49-43 loss to Lafayette Central Catholic HS.

Covenant built a strong halftime lead, leading the Lady Knights 28-14, but LCC utilized full court pressure to fight back into the game.  LCC held the Lady Warriors to just 15 second half points to help fuel the comeback as CCHS got into foul trouble late in the game.  Sophomore Karsyn Cherry and Freshman Tori Thompson led Central Catholic with game-highs 14 points.  11 of Thompson’s 14 points came in the final quarter.

Senior Ilani Williams-Harris led Covenant with 12 points and six assists.  Senior Sania Borom scored 9 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Anna Guiff had an efficient scoring night, going 4-for-5 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line for 10 points.

CCHS will return to action on Thursday, December 5 at Brebeuf Jesuit Prep for their second Circle City Conference game of the season.  Game times are slated for 6:00/7:30 pm.
