The Athletic Department is pleased to announce that last week, Rich Perez has been named the sixth head softball coach in program history. Perez takes over for Coach Dan Torrance, who has been the Lady Warriors head coach from 2017-19. Perez has been an assistant coach under Torrance at CCHS for the last two seasons.
Covenant has experienced solid success the last few seasons, winning the program’s first two sectional titles (2018, 2019) and in 2019 their first regional title, falling just one out shy of advancing to the semi-state final, losing 4-3 to the eventual Class 1A state champion Lutheran HS Saints. Covenant put together a record of 18-9 in 2019.
Perez brings several years of coaching experience in travel softball to his time at CCHS.
