The Boys Soccer team controlled much of their City Tournament quarterfinal match versus Crispus Attucks HS on Saturday, but could not find the back of the net, ending in a 1-0 upset loss to the Tigers.
CCHS controlled the ball 60% of the game with an 80% pass success rate, outshooting the Tigers 24-6. Covenant continued to pressure the Tiger defense for the remainder of the game, including have a goal called back late in the match, but could not score.
Attucks will advance to face #2 seeded Cardinal Ritter HS in the semifinals on Monday at Heritage Christian at 7:00 pm. Ritter defeated Shortridge HS 2-0 in their quarterfinal match. On the top side of the bracket, #4 Heritage Christian defeated Bishop Chatard HS and then Scecina Memorial HS to advance to face #1 seed Cathedral HS on Monday. CHS defeated George Washington CHS in their quarterfinal match Saturday evening.
