Girls Varsity Golf · Cooper’s Getting Hot for Girls Golf, Makes All-City Team

Senior Anna Cooper is getting hot on the links for the Lady Warriors, as her and the team are playing some of their best golf of the season this week.

Cooper had her best round of the season and matched her personal best score, shooting a 43, to help lead CCHS to a win of their tri-match with Park Tudor and Cardinal Ritter HS on Wednesday at South Grove GC.  Covenant shot a 187, while Park Tudor shot a 203, followed by Cardinal Ritter’s 210.

Senior Grace Flasher shot a 43 for the second straight match, also tying her personal low score.  Senior Kenzie Amico broke 50 with a score of 49, while Chloe Carlson shot a 54.

The Lady Warriors also competed in the City Tournament at South Grove on Friday.  CCHS shot a 393 to take fourth place overall.  Heritage Christian took first place with a team score of 338, followed by Cathedral HS at 352, and Bishop Chatard HS at 361.  Closing out the team scores were Cardinal Ritter HS at 405 and Shortridge HS at 465.  Cooper was the best CCHS score at 87, which tied her for fifth place and places her on this year’s All-City Team.  It was the second year in a row that Cooper made the All-City Team.  Flasher finished with a 93, Amico with a 100, and Senior Ellie Daugherty shot a 113.  Flasher’s 93 tied for tenth place, but lost a tiebreaker for the final All-City Team position.  Click here for 2019 Girls Golf City Tournament results.

The Lady Warriors will close out their regular season this week with a makeup match with Brebeuf Jesuit Prep at Golf Course of Indiana on Monday and their regular season finale on Wednesday versus Cardinal Ritter HS.  CCHS will then compete in IHSAA Sectional #19 at South Grove GC on Friday.  Click here for Sectional #19 tee times.
