Boys Varsity Soccer · Chatard Upsets Boys Soccer

The Boys Soccer team were denied their second conference win of the year last night, as the Trojans of Bishop Chatard HS upset the Warriors 2-1 on their home pitch.

CCHS controlled much of the game, but struggled to find the back of the net, as Chatard turned away several good scoring chances in the first half.  A great hustle play by Junior Gabe Wilson led to the Trojans scoring an own goal trying to clear a ball out with just seconds left in the first half.  Chatard evened the scoring midway through the second half, as CCHS misplayed a bouncing ball and the Trojans pushed it to the net on the backside.  An outstanding shot from the top of the box with about 17 minutes to play finished the scoring for the night.

CCHS will hit the road for two games next week, as they travel to Tri-West HS on Tuesday night and then Speedway HS on Thursday night.  Both nights have the JV playing at 5:30 pm and the varsity playing at 7:00 pm.
