Boys Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Softball · Hood, Torrance Step Down as CCHS Coaches

Covenant Head Coaches Dan Torrance (softball) and Aaron Hood (boys volleyball) stepped down from their coaching positions over the summer of 2019.  The Athletic Department would like to thank these gentlemen for their hard work in coaching and their dedication to not only see Covenant athletes improve on the field and the court, but grow in their faith and as they mature towards adulthood.

After serving as an assistant coach in the CCHS program for a season under Kurt Richter, Hood led the Covenant Boys Volleyball program as the head coach for four seasons, with a record of 49-45.

Torrance came on the CCHS Softball staff as an assistant coach under Matt Williams in 2016, and then was the head coach from 2017-2019.  Torrance compiled a three-year record of 45-34.  He helped to strengthen the Lady Warriors’ strength of schedule over his three seasons.  CCHS won Sectional #58 in Class 1A in both 2018 and 2019, and lost to eventual Class 1A State Champion Lutheran HS in the south semi-state semifinal 4-3 in 2019.

The Athletic Department will begin a search to replace both of these coaches, as well as an assistant baseball coach for the 2019 season.  Applicants should be mature Christians who can agree with the Covenant Statement of Faith and Belief, with coaching and/or playing experience in their respective sports.  To apply for one these positions, click here.
