The City Alliance released the draws for the City Tournaments for both Baseball and Softball in the last few days. The City Softball Tournament will kick off with first round and second round games on Wednesday and Thursday, with the top four seeds starting play on Saturday. The semifinals and finals will be played next Friday and Saturday. The Baseball City Tournament kicks off with first round games on Monday, with the quarterfinals and semifinals on Wednesday and Friday, with the Tournament culminating in the City Final at Victory Field on May 10 in conjunction with the Marion County Final.
The top six seeds were determined based on records, strength of schedule, and head-to-head matchups so far this season. The Lady Warriors (7-3-1) are the #4 seed in this year’s tournament. They are scheduled to face #5 seed Scecina Memorial HS in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 10:00 am at Brookside Park. The winner will advance to the semifinals on May 10. 2019 City Softball bracket.
The City Baseball coaches vote to seed the top eight teams, with the four remaining teams being slotted in the bracket via a blind draw. The Baseball team (6-6) will also be the #4 seed. The Warriors receive a first round bye, and will host the winner of #5 Scecina Memorial HS and Crispus Attucks HS in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, May 1 at Warrior Park at 5:30 pm. 2019 City Baseball bracket.
