Sophomore Alexis Priesthoff swam in the preliminaries of the IHSAA Sectional #13 at Pike HS last night, and had a very solid night.

Preisthoff, the lone female CCHS swimmer this year, competed in both the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle.  In the 50 Free, Priesthoff placed 10th overall, setting a personal record with a time of :27.04.  That time was good enough to advance her to swim in the consolation heat of the event on Saturday.  She also set a PR in the 100 Free, finishing in :59.94 to place seventh.  She will compete in the final of the 100 Free on Saturday.  Click here for the Preliminary Results from the Sectional #13 (Pike HS).

The finals will also be held at Pike HS, with the first starting gun set to kick things off at 1:00 pm.  In order to advance to next week’s state finals, swimmers must either  1.) win their event, 2.) finish under the state qualifying time for that event, or 3.) be one of the next fastest swimmers to fill out each event to 32 competitors.  The State Finals will be held at the IUPUI Natatorium on Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9.

The Boys will compete in their sectional at Brownsburg HS on Thursday, February 14, with the sectional finals set for February 16.
