The Covenant Swim team had another very solid outing on Thursday night at Decatur Central HS in a five-way meet that included CCHS, Decatur, Cardinal Ritter HS, Scecina Memorial HS, and Park Tudor.
Each of the three CCHS Swimmers swam in both the 50 and 100 Free events, and each of them set personal records in both events. Due to sheer numbers of swimmers, CCHS took a distant fifth place on the girls side of the meet, while the boys scored 40 points to place fourth place. Click here for complete meet results.
Junior Dawson Fink placed first place in both the 50 and 100 Free heats, setting two new programs records. Fink had previously set records in both events, but Thursday’s results re-set both records. Fink swam the 50 in 23.11, besting his previous time of 23.82. He also set a new mark in the 100, finishing it in 52.20, winning the event by more than three seconds.
Sophomore Alexis Priesthoff also swam two personal best times, taking first place in the 100 Free (1:01.69) and second place in the 50 Free (27.14).
Freshman Brenner Lampton took fifth place in the 50 Free, swimming a 30.00 and seventh place in the 100 (1:07.30), dropping over three seconds off of his previous PR.
The Warriors have a very busy week this week, as they will swim at Speedway HS on Tuesday night, Ben Davis HS on Thursday night, and then in the Circle City Conference meet on Saturday at Ben Davis HS.
