The Boys Basketball team (1-0) opened their season on the road last night at Bethesda Christian.  The team struggled through poor shooting from the perimeter, but battled for a 77-65 win over the Patriots.

Covenant’s high-space game and pressure defense caused issues for the Patriots, but a 2-for-29 shooting night from 3-point range kept the game close throughout.  As a team, CCHS grabbed 46 rebounds, 21 on the offensive end, to help offset their shooting woes.

Junior Cam Shurig led Covenant with a big night of 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals, and 4 assists.  Junior Sam Fulbright also had a solid game, coming up one point shy of a double-double, tallying 9 points and 11 boards.

The team will open up Circle City Conference play for the first time in program history next Saturday, as they will host Roncalli HS on December 1 at 4:30/6/7:30 pm.  The varsity game will be webcast on Indiana SRN.  Login to watch all of the action if you’re not able to make it out to Andrew Smith Court at Warrior Fieldhouse.
