The Girls Volleyball team wrapped up their season a couple of weeks ago in the first round of sectional play, but several members of the squad are receiving postseason honors.
Freshman Cadee Notter was selected to the All-City Team by the City Alliance coaches in conjunction with the Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports (MCCGSA). Notter, the team’s setter, led the team with 548 assists, an average of 6.9/set. She was also the team leader in service aces (62) and digs (237). Notter also recorded 57 kills on the year. Seniors Abby Highsmith and Bailey Everett were also selected as All-City Honorable Mention. Highsmith had a team high 194 kills, while also recording 30 aces and 161 digs. Everett, who missed half of the season due to a knee injury, recorded 195 digs. She had a 16.3 digs/match average. 2018 MCCGSA All-City Team.
Everett and Highsmith were also selected as Academic All-State by the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA). Academic All-State is for seniors on the varsity roster of their school’s volleyball program, maintain a GPS of 3.5 or higher, and have minimum test scores of 1100/24 (SAT/ACT).
