Senior Ashlyn Hastings represented Covenant well on Saturday, competing in the IHSAA Semi-State at Blue River Park in Shelbyville.  Hastings, running a 19:35.9, finished 42nd overall as an individual out of the 179 runners in the Girls Semi-State.  Her time, was just eight seconds off of her program record time of 19:27.9 that she set earlier this season.  Hastings finish placed her fifteenth of the individuals on non-advancing teams.  The top six teams and top ten individuals on non-advancing teams will move on to the IHSAA State Finals on Saturday in Terre Haute.  This marked the best finish of a CCHS female runner in program history.

Zionsville CHS won the semi-state meet, just nipping Brebeuf Jesuit Prep.  Carmel, Noblesville, Pike, and Franklin Central HS will all advance as teams.  Senior Emma Wilson of Greencastle HS finished first overall with a time of 17:31.0.  2018 IHSAA Shelbyville Semi-State Girls Results.
