The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both competed in the Golden Bear Invitational at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, IN on Saturday, September 22. Senior Ashlyn Hastings finished ninth overall, second in 1A/2A scoring, and broke her own school record in a time of 19:27.90. Hastings had broke the record twice last year as a junior, with her best time of 2017 being 19:31. Click here for the official Golden Bear Invitational results.
Junior Harland Lory finished eighth in 1A/2A scoring in 21:41.40, and Sophomore Kyrsten Dalton had a huge PR run in 23:53.60. Freshman Clayton Reichanadter was the top CCHS male finisher in a PR of 18:14.40. Other PR runs from Juniors Timothy Skaggs and Patrick Shaughnessy, and Sophomores Josiah Allman and Mitch Gunn rounded out the scoring. Ten of 11 CCHS runners ran personal bests — encouraging progress as sectionals approach.
The Warriors run again on Tuesday, in the Ben Davis Invitational, a meet rescheduled from September 8th. The BD Invite will start with the Girls race at 5:30 pm, followed by the Boys race at approximately 6:15 pm.
