The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) released the draw for the 2018 Boys and Girls Soccer State Tournaments on Sunday night. The draw for the 25th Annual State Tournaments were released on a webcast pairings show on the IHSAA Champions Network. The brackets for all of the IHSAA State Tournaments are completed via a blind draw.
Both tournaments mirror each other beginning with 16 sectionals in each of three classes running Oct. 1‐6.
Regionals will be played Saturday, Oct. 13, semi‐states are Saturday, Oct. 20 at four sites with the winners
advancing to the state championship matches on Oct. 26‐27 in Indianapolis.
In the Girls Tournament, Covenant will compete in Class 1A and will begin the tournament in Sectional #42, hosted at Cardinal Ritter HS. The Lady Warriors will look to defend their sectional title from last year. CCHS (6-6-1) and the host Lady Raiders (7-4) both drew a bye, and will face each other in the semifinals on Thursday, October 4 at CRHS at 7:00 pm. In the other half of the bracket, International School of Indiana will face Speedway HS and Greenwood Christian will take on George Washington CHS on Tuesday, October 2nd. The two winners from the ISI/Speedway and GCA/GW games will face each other in one semifinal on 10/4 while Covenant will face Ritter in the other semifinal. The Sectional #42 final will be played on Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 pm.
In the Boys Tournament, the Warriors will look to make another deep run, similar to last year when they were the State runners-up in Class 1A. CCHS will compete in Sectional #41 will be played at Bethesda Christian. CCHS (5-7) drew Cascade HS (7-4-2) in the first round. Covenant will face the Cadets on Monday, October 1 at 6:00 pm. The winner will advance to face Covington HS (9-2-2) in the semifinals. Host Bethesda Christian will face North Putnam HS in the other semifinal. The Sectional #41 final will be played on Saturday, October 6 at 7:00 pm.
